Powerpuff buttercup aesthetic8/7/2023 ![]() In the comics, Blossom's bow essentially once served the same purpose for her as Buttercup's blanket did for Buttercup in the TV show. It wasn't until Buttercup realized that she only started kicking butt again after she was given a fake blanket that she actually had the strength in her all along. In fact, she was so convinced this was true that Buttercup actually threw pathetically weak punches against a monster when her sisters forced her into battle without it. But the Powerpuff Girls TV episode "Cover Up" revealed there was a time when Buttercup wouldn't let herself fight until she had undergone a specific ritual with her blanket that involved stroking it while muttering that she was a good fighter over and over again because she honestly felt this was what made her fight well. ![]() ![]() Since Octi has appeared in more episodes, most people remember how Bubbles would sometimes take Octi with her on missions and how the villain Him once used the stuff animal to trick Bubbles into committing horrible acts. ![]() But a more accurate comparison for fans who are more familiar with Powerpuff Girls lore is how their sister Buttercup once relied on her special green blanket. Blossom's red bow has always been a major part of her image in the Powerpuff Girls, but DC's comic book series of the same name actually proves it serves a much deeper purpose, one that shares some similarities with the relationship between Bubbles and her octopus stuffed animal Octi. ![]()
